The Town of Sylvan Lake is asking for your input on how to manage solid waste for the community.
The Solid Waste Master Plan will guide the Town's solid waste (garbage and recycling) management for short, medium, and long-term goals. The plan helps to guide Council on decision making, such as:
- How often garbage and recycling is picked up
- How to plan for future population growth
- How we will manage the logistics of waste management in the most cost-effective way possible
Have your say
The first open house, and the online survey, will gather the public's feedback on current solid waste service levels. This information will be used in the development of the Master Plan, which we hope to present to Council in late 2025.
- The Town has hired GHD Canada to create an online survey, host the open houses, and build the plan
- The results of the first open house and the survey are used to help create the Solid Waste Master Plan
- Open house: July 31, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, NexSource Centre
- Survey: Can't make the open house? Complete the online survey by August 15, 5:00 PM
- Open house: Date TBD. This open house will present the draft of the Solid Waste Master Plan
