It was the response the Saskatchewan Roughriders wanted to provide on Saturday as they rebounded from their first loss of 2025 with a 33-27 victory over the BC Lions.

Trevor Harris had 395 passing yards with three touchdowns and an interception.

Dohnte Meyers enjoyed a big game with 7 catches for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Following a quick two-and-out by the Lions, the Roughriders went to work quickly on their first drive that ended with Meyers hauling in a 50-yard touchdown reception.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Lions fumbled on the return and recovered by Saskatchewan’s Jayden Dalke. The green and white had to settle for a 45-yard field goal by Brett Lauther.

With a 10-1 lead, the Roughriders extended their lead as AJ Ouellette found the end zone with a seven-yard catch.

BC countered with a touchdown of their own as the Riders led 17-8 after the first 15 minutes.

Saskatchewan extended their lead to 23-11 at halftime with a pair of field goals from Lauther.

Like the first half, Harris and Meyers connected on a deep passing play, this time from 30 yards, that put the Roughriders ahead for good.

BC did add a couple of late touchdowns, but it was not enough to match the Roughriders on Saturday.

Lauther was perfect on Saturday with four field goals.

Thanks to Saturday’s win, Saskatchewan clinched the season series with the Lions. BC will visit Regina to close out the regular season in October.

The Roughriders moved into a first-place tie with the Calgary Stampeders at 5-1.

Next on the Saskatchewan’s schedule is Friday night matchup against the Edmonton Elks, who are coming off a bye week.
