The South Semi-Finals swim meet was held in Estevan on Saturday, drawing about 250 athletes from across southern Saskatchewan, including teams from Weyburn, Swift Current, Regina, and Oxbow. The host club, the Estevan Golden Eels, had a strong showing, with several swimmers earning high-point awards and many qualifying for Provincials.

Willow Van Sickle earned silver in the 7–8 girls' category with 26 points. Keomi Mazo took gold in the 9–10 girls division with a perfect 28 points. Isabelle Pyra claimed bronze in the 13–14 girls' group with 28 points, and Jennika Linthicum earned silver in the 15–17 girls' category with 31 points.

A total of 29 Golden Eels qualified for Provincials in Watrous on July 26 and 27. Those planning to attend are Willow Van Sickle, Rose Chabot, Lexi Olson, Remi Fornwald, Keomi Mazo, Olivia Walton, Avianna Sacopon, Luke Currie, Daeken Yurkowski, Charlie Pyra, Sarah Pyra, Isabelle Pyra, Rachel Duncan, Sofia Erana-Schmegelsky, Danica Mosley, Mahlyn Bomberak, and Jaxton Martens.

Swimmers who qualified but will not be attending include Kyrie Brignall, Maximilian Bauer, Sebastian Martens, Danae Schlamp, Thacia Brignall, Sawyer Bomberak, Cooper Dixon, Jennika Linthicum, Sianna Goudy, Meredith Knoll, Emma Grobbink, and Macy Curtis.

The Golden Eels will now turn their focus to Provincials, where they’ll look to cap off a successful season with more strong performances.
