The U17 Estevan Elite girls fast-pitch team capped off a successful 2025 season with a solid showing at the Softball Saskatchewan U17B Provincial Championships this past weekend in Rosthern.

The tournament featured 21 teams from across the province, and Estevan opened pool play Friday with an impressive 14–7 victory over the Regina Saints — the top B-ranked team from the Queen City. Sadie Aspinall earned Estevan’s Player of the Game honours in the win.

Later that day, the Elite faced the host Valley Vipers in a back-and-forth battle that ultimately decided first place in the Green Pool. Estevan rallied with a huge six-run seventh inning but fell just short in a narrow 8–7 loss. Malina Stead was recognized as Player of the Game for her efforts.

On Saturday, Estevan bounced back with a dominant 9–2 win over the Saskatoon Stars. Aspinall once again stood out, picking up her second Player of the Game nod. The team finished tied in the standings with Melville but advanced to the playoff round thanks to a superior run differential.

Estevan was one of just eight teams to make the cut for Sunday’s championship round. They were matched up against Swift Current Sonic, the top team from the Orange Pool. The Elite got off to a promising start but ultimately fell 13–3 to the eventual bronze medalists. Reegan Veroba was named Player of the Game for Estevan.

Despite the quarterfinal exit, the tournament wrapped up what was a strong and competitive season for the U17 Estevan Elite squad.
