Crews are on scene of a ruptured gas line near the 5-way stop in Lacombe. Central Alberta Online
Categories

City contractors have hit an unmarked gas line during ongoing work at the 5-way intersection near the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex.

The Lacombe Fire Department is monitoring air quality on site, and ATCO Gas is also working to isolate the line. No issues or concerns have been reported, and there is no current risk to public safety. Local residents have been advised of the situation, and residents in the area are advised to close their windows.

Residents may smell sulphur or an egg-like smell, but concentrations are low and are being monitored. If you experience symptoms like a headache, please clear the area.

All other residents are asked to avoid the area while crews respond. An update will be provided as information becomes available.
