If you looked up last night (July 24), you may have spotted the unmistakable formation of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds soaring over Red Deer and the surrounding region.

The nine-jet team was on their way to Camrose, where they’ll headline this weekend’s Camrose Airshow at the Camrose Airport.

The CF Snowbirds, formally known as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, are a beloved Canadian icon, made up of Canadian Armed Forces members and National Defense public service employees.

While Thursday’s flyover was a non-aerobatic display, fans can expect a full performance this weekend.

The Camrose Airshow will feature the team both Saturday and Sunday.

Gates will be open at 11:00 a.m. both days with the flying set for 2:00 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to take in pre-show activities before the main aerial display begins.

Tonight, (Friday, July 25) as part of a kickoff event there is a Maple split ice cream social where you will have the chance to meet with the pilots.

  • Location: Camrose Airport
    Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Admission: Free Entry
Ice Cream Sundae: $2 (as supplies last)

Meet & Greet with Special Guests:
