Saskatchewan RCMP released additional details on the individual involved in an altercation on July 18 in Richmound, Ricky Manz, who became entangled with the RCMP after officers arrived to keep the peace while municipal workers operated in the area near the former Richmound School.

The exchange between Manz and two officers came after one of the RCMP members climbed over the fence, leading to a physical altercation and the following charges for the 61-year-old Manz:

  • one count of assault
  • two counts of assault of a peace officer
  • one count of resisting arrest
  • one count of mischief
  • one count of uttering threats
  • one count of obstructing or interfering with an employee or agency of a municipality.

An associate of Romana Didulo, the self-proclaimed 'Queen of Canada', Manz is scheduled to appear in court in Leader on September 18, 2025.

The fall court date will mark the latest news concerning the group that has been in Richmound, occupying the former school site since September 2023.

Coming up on the two-year anniversary, local area residents believe that the situation has gone on far too long. One of the most recent updates from the beginning of July relayed that theĀ Village of Richmound office was being closed to the public due to the ongoing harassment and intimidation of staff.

Sharing that news to the WestCentralOnline Facebook page, commenters were understandably frustrated with the ongoing situation and shared a common sentiment that the people involved should be in jail.

"Lock her up and throw the key away along with all the other ones that she got there," read one comment, another asking "how can this be happening in a supposedly civilized country."

The situation in Richmound had remained quiet for the past few months from the outside looking in, but the most recent example shows a lot of trouble on display. The charges will be dealt with in September, but until then, the community will continue to wait and see what's next.
