The Canadian Men's Amateur Golf Championship starts in Ottawa-Gatineau today with Shaunavon's Corey Bailey in the field.
The golf representing Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current qualified by finishing second in the Saskatchewan Amateur Championship.
"I'm really excited to represent Golf Saskatchewan and the people of Shaunavon and Swift Current," Bailey said. "Hopefully I can do well for everyone at home and do well for myself.
"I'm going to see how my game stacks up against a bunch of these really good amateurs in Canada and from around the world."
Bailey also won the Saskatchewan Mid-Amateur Championship while playing in the Saskatchewan Amateur.
"It's pretty awesome," he said. "There's some great Golf Saskatchewan names on that trophy and it's pretty special that I'll be able to put my name on there beside those other guys forever."
Bailey didn't rest on winning the Mid-Amateur. Despite facing a significant deficit going into the final found of the Saskatchewan Amateur Championship, he put up a fight in the final round.
"I was really proud of myself the last day," he said. "I had a tough start. I was eight back after three holes there and I got it to one back standing on 13th. I just couldn't catch him in the end, but I was really proud of how I held my own and got stronger as they all went on."
He is really happy with where his game has come this year.
"I've been working really hard with my coach Jeff Gross," Bailey said. "Trying to get my game back into shape over these last few years and he's been a great help these last couple of years getting my rounding my game into form.
"Working on sticking to the fundamentals and not trying to over complicate things and then definitely the mental side of my game is improved a ton working on that through different aspects."
The first round of the Canadian Amateur Golf Championship is set for today with golfers from across Canada and around the world.
