The Swift Current Kal Tire 18U AAA 57s' provincial title hopes were extinguished in the quarter-finals this past weekend.
Swift Current opened provincials with a 6-3 win over the Saskatoon Diamondbacks Thursday night, before falling Friday to the Moose Jaw Canucks 3-2 and the Saskatoon Cubs 5-4.
The 57s rebounded Saturday night with a 4-2 win over the Saskatoon Giants to move into the quarterfinals.
Swift Current drew the Giants in the quarterfinals and were up 9-8 in the top of the sixth inning, but ultimately fell 14-9.
