Brock Wall got to celebrate for a couple of reasons last night.

His Swift Current Yard Goats won their first Sask-Alta Baseball League championship since 2017, and he was named playoff MVP.

"It feels amazing," Wall said. "I just tried to lay it all out there on the field for my guys. I felt good the whole way there. I just wanted the ball and wanted to go get it done."

The hard-throwing pitcher credited depth and commitment for their first championship in eight years.

"All-around, the boys were just clicking," Wall said. "We had 17 committed guys all year. We were just so deep. Everyone was going on all cylinders. It just felt so good to get it done."

He thought his team had the game won for a moment in the top of the 7th inning against Cabri when the potential winning out was ruled safe at first base.

"Oh that's tough," Wall said. "I try to flush and try to focus back in because we're still in a game."

He said pitching in late in the championship game was the biggest pressure he faced in his five years with the Yard Goats, and it felt great to get the win.
