Rocky View County (RVC) is ramping up efforts to manage high-flow conditions impacting Bragg Creekâs wastewater system, as inflow volumes continue to exceed treatment capacity despite recent improvements.
Crews are actively hauling excess wastewater and using all available system storage to prevent overflows. RVC officials say water conservation efforts by residents have contributed to a slight reduction in inflow, but volumes remain well above what the system is designed to handle.
To help identify the source of the excess water, county staff will conduct on-site inspections of E1 lift stations throughout Bragg Creek on July 29, and July 30, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Marked county vehicles and uniformed staff with proper identification will be present in neighbourhoods. Staff will knock before entering any yards and will not enter homes. The inspections aim to determine whether groundwater is infiltrating the wastewater system.
The county is urging residents to continue conserving water as investigation and mitigation efforts continue.
They thank Bragg Creek residents for their patience and support as the community continues to deal with elevated wastewater flows.
