The results are in for the annual Community Votes Red Deer awards, and several local organizations and groups are celebrating top honours.

The Bredin Centre for Career Advancement earned platinum in the non-profit category, recognized for its support services including emergency housing funding, help with income support applications, and access to cultural and community resources.

In the community organization category, platinum went to the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre (CAPCC).

The CAPCC offers education and support for individuals and families across Central Alberta before, during, and after pregnancy, and what began as a single-staffed operation has now grown into a team of nearly 20 full- and part-time employees.

The Red Deer Royals Concert & Marching Show Band had a standout year, earning platinum in multiple categories including performing arts, community groups, and live entertainment.

The band has had a busy summer, appearing in numerous parades, community showcases, and stampede events across Central Alberta.

Meanwhile, your very own Sunny 94.1 FM was named a top pick in the radio station category, earning recognition from the community despite not placing in the top three medal positions.

The Community Votes program invited residents to nominate and vote for their favourite businesses and organizations in a wide range of categories.
