The 2025 “Chairs for Charity” fundraiser raised $6,350 in support of the Tools for School program. This brings the total raised to an impressive $46,048 for local charities since beginning in 2018.
Launched by Deanna Nowochin, “Chairs for Charity” is a grassroots initiative that brings the community together in support of a good cause. Each year, local businesses purchase and creatively decorate unfinished Adirondack chairs, which are then displayed throughout Lacombe and raffled off to the public.
Tickets are sold for $5 each, with 100 per cent of proceeds going directly to the chosen charity. In recent years, the campaign has featured anywhere from 20 to 45 uniquely painted chairs.
This year’s funds will support the Tools for School program, which provides essential school supplies and snacks to students across Lacombe County, helping ensure they’re ready for a successful start to the school year.
The campaign continues to be a powerful example of what’s possible when small businesses and community members come together with a shared purpose.
