After an extended stretch of extreme heat, Central Alberta is expected to see some relief this August long weekend, according to Environment Canada.

Lacombe weekend forecast at a glance:

  • Friday night: Partly cloudy skies with a low of 14°C.

  • Saturday: Cloud cover will increase throughout the day, bringing a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and the risk of a thunderstorm. Expect a high of 23°C with a humidex of 28. The UV index will be 8, rated as very high.

  • Saturday night: Showers are expected to continue, with a low of 14°C.

  • Sunday: Rainy conditions persist with a high of 19°C.

  • Sunday night: Showers, with temperatures dipping to a low of 12°C.

  • Monday (Heritage Day): A mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers. High of 23°C.
