City issues road safety advisory

The City of Swift Current has issued a road safety advisory after a thunderstorm downpoured on the community Saturday evening.

"Due to the significant rainfall we’ve received, many local roads currently have high water levels, creating hazardous driving conditions," the city said in a social media post at 8:16 p.m.

The release also states that city crews are actively working on the affected areas.

"For your safety and to support the ongoing work of our crews, please avoid unnecessary travel. If travel is essential, exercise extreme caution. Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways."
