HILLIER
Following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Ralph Arthur Hillier passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025. Ralph was born on August 8th, 1935 in Bracken, Saskatchewan.
Ralph had a life well lived. He was very handy and although he was not formally trained, he could fix almost anything with his mechanical aptitude. He was still building and repairing around the house until his passing in his 90th year.
Ralph was a kind, caring man. He was the "Best Dad Ever" to his 6 children. Ralph would do anything for anyone in need. He was witty, charismatic, and could make anyone feel special. Ralph loved dogs and horses and could tell witty stories through his life experiences. He always had a smile and chuckle for people and was well liked in his life travels by all he encountered.
Ralph worked for many years in farm building sales and construction, travelling all over Saskatchewan and into Manitoba. In later years he worked in contractor sales at Revelstoke and Beaver Lumber in Saskatoon, SK.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vera and Arthur Hillier; brothers, Floyd and Dale Hillier; sister, Shirley Kress (Jack); and grandson, Warren Hillier. Ralph is survived by his wife, Vivian, whom he was lovingly married to for 68 years. She was the love of his life. He is also survived by his children: Wade Hillier, Valerie Gerlach (Dean), Virginia Richardson, Wendy Fosse, Wanda Johnson, and Melissa Van Buskirk (Darcy); grandchildren: Brian Hillier, Jamie Gerlach (Bill), Jillian
Peltier (Patrick), Mindy Richardson (Amanda), Kelly Tremblay (Andrew), Tyler and Amanda Fosse, Dr. Thomas Johnson (Anna), Lynette Johnson, Patrick Johnson (Samatha), Megan Mierau, and Kyle Arthur Mierau (Heather); fifteen greatgrandchildren; as well as his brother-in-law, Dr. Mel Henry (Penny).
Special thanks to the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK and Palliative Home Care, for all their special care.
