As the last month of summer begins, events continue to pop up throughout the southeast. With tons to see and hear, make sure to keep up to date on what is going on in your community. Dairy Queen Celebrate Summer will be attending as many events as possible, and this weekend is full!  

  

Here’s where we’ll be:  

Frog Follies Ag fair   

When: Friday, August 8th – Sunday, August 10th   

Where: Carillon Park, St Pierre-Jolys  

The Frog Follies Ag Fair will be held in St Pierre-Jolys this weekend, bringing food, cornhole, a parade, bubble soccer, inflatable axe throwing, and much more. The Ag fair exhibitions will open at 6 pm on Friday and 9 am on Saturday.   

  

Richer Roughstock Rodeo   

When: Friday, August 8th – Sunday, August 10th  

Where: Richer Roughstock Rodeo Grounds  

The Richer Roughstock Rodeo brings a Bullnanza and giant rodeo social to the southeast on Friday evening, kicking off a weekend of fun. With a parade, petting zoo, rodeo, and music, there will be a ton to see and hear. Gates open at noon on Friday, and celebrations continue until 2 am. Saturday, the grounds are open 8 am – 2 am, and Sunday closes off the event with activities from 8 am – 2 pm.  

  

Carrick Days   

When: Saturday, August 9th – Sunday, August 10th   

Where: Carrick Community Club  

Carrick Days is a free festival to attend this weekend, with doors opening at 11 am on Saturday, followed by a parade, games, and fireworks. Sunday continues the fun opening at 10 am for breakfast, a beanbag competition, and a talent competition.   

  

Other events:  

Movie in the park  

When: 9 pm Friday, August 8th  ***The movie in the park as been postponed to August 22nd, due to weather***

Where: A.D Penner Park, Steinbach  

The city of Steinbach is putting on a free movie under the stars this weekend. This year’s showing is Dog Man, a family-friendly movie for everyone to enjoy. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and find a nice spot early; the viewing starts at 9 pm.   

  

Sprague Riverboat Race  

When: Friday, August 8th at 7 pm   

Where: Beginning at the bridge on Morden Sprague Road, ending at the Bridge on 308 (Main Street)  

The Sprague Community Center is hosting its second year of riverboat racing. You can buy and drop a toy boat into the river and enter the race on Friday evening. Awards will be announced at 4 pm the next day at Sprague Fest. Entering the race also supports the community center, which receives half the profits. The rest of the entrance money is split as a winning prize.  

  

Sprague Fest and Show N’ Shine   

When: Saturday, August 9th   

Where: Sprague Community Center  

Sprague Fest and Show N’ Shine will bring a day packed full of events to Sprague this weekend. This event starts with a pancake breakfast, parade, and Show N’ Shine. Next, there will be fun and games for the whole family, along with a silent auction. Finally, there will be an evening social featuring music from Gold N Dusty. The social will go from 8 pm – 1 am, so make sure to bring good dancing shoes.
