The Moose Jaw Police Service deployed a taser yesterday following a 911 call about a person threatening to harm themself.
Police attended a residence around 11:50 p.m. on the 600 block of Caribou Street West. At the scene, officers learned that the person had locked themself inside a room within the residence and was in possession of a knife.
Officers were able to gain entry into the room and found the individual had suffered injuries. Police say the person began to approach police, brandishing a knife.
Police deployed a conducted energy weapon, commonly referred to as a Taser, to safely gain control of the situation.
The individual was taken to hospital by EMS, where they received medical attention.
