Tonight, the Estevan Motor Speedway is hosting races to make up for a cancellation last week. Last Saturday, the races were cancelled, which featured wingless sprint cars and races in all classes.
Unfortunately, one class won't be coming to the track tonight, says Board Member Aaron Turnbull.
"They have a race scheduled somewhere else this weekend, so we weren't able to reschedule them. But we thought we'd give all our regular racers that we race with us weekly a make-up date to give them another shot at the points races as we lead up to the end of the year."
Turnbull says as the seaosn is coming to a head, a lot fo the points races are very tight, so every win matters at the Speedway.
They're also carrying over a free admission promotion from Saturday, with Turnbull saying younger viewers can get in for free.
"S&S Pilings is covering the admission of all kids 14 and under, so we invite all families to come out, save them a little bit of money."
With today's makeup races looking to keep the competition fierce, Turnbull is confident that they'll have a great track come race time.
"I think the weather's been a little more in our favour here lately, so we shouldn't have any concerns there. We haven't had an abundance of moisture like we had before, so we're looking to be in good shape for this Friday, and it should be a great night of racing."
The first races begin at 7 p.m. at the Estevan Motor Speedway.
