The Rosebud Jr Royals participated in the Canadian Fast Pitch Championships last week in Winkler and Morden, Manitoba and finished in 5th place. 

In their first game, on Wednesday they were defeated by the Tavistock Athletics of Ontario 3-1.  

The Royals bounced back in their second game with a 16-9 victory against Elma Avengers.  

They improved their record on Thursday with a win over the Newfoundland squad 15-6. 

In their second game of the day, the Royals lost to the Napanee Express 11-8.  

On Friday the Royals split their two games. They lost to Team Quebec 20-0 but came back to get a win over the Wilmot Thunder from Ontario 17-12.  

In their final, the Royals were defeated by the Valley Blue Jays from Laird, Saskatchewan 7-4. 

Two Royals made the Allstar team with Ben Tokarchuk as All-Star Utility Player (infield/catcher) and Jayce Lockie as All-Star Infielder.  The awards were based off the preliminary round stats. 

Ben: Batting Average .462; On Base %.556; 1 HR; 9 RBI, 0 Strikeouts.  
Jayce: Batting Average .375; On Base %.545; 2HRs. 

This trip to Nationals was the first one for the current Royals as the team had previously competed on the national stage with an older group of players.
