Sylvan Lake residents have submitted names, painted rocks, and now the community is invited to cast their vote to name the town’s colourful rock snake.
After many creative submissions, the Town of Sylvan Lake has narrowed the list down to five finalists:
-
Sylvia
-
Pebbles
-
Squiggles
-
Laker Lenny
-
Willy Wellness
Voting is now open and will close at midnight on August 24. Residents can cast their vote online here.
The rock snake is part of a community art initiative that debuted at the Health & Wellness Healing Hub on Neighbour Day (August 17).
The project is designed to spark creativity and connection, with residents encouraged to paint rocks and add them to the growing snake anytime.
The snake can be found along the east side of 47 Avenue and 52 Street at the Health & Wellness Healing Hub.
