A southwest musician is once again taking his talents to the national stage.
Violinist and fiddler Austin Castle will be performing at this year's Canadian Grandmasters Open Fiddle Competition in Kamloops, BC.
Castle has been performing for many years and hopes to place highly in this year's event.
"Well, the goal is always to just make it through," he said. "Actually, it would be great to make the top ten, no question."
He says he's always been involved in music, beginning with the piano from an early age, then transferring to the violin in late childhood.
Castle has also begun to perform with other local musicians here in Swift Current as part of a band. He says his band—Austin Castle and the City Limits—will be performing a few shows this fall.
