The City is warning residents of an upcoming project that will disrupt foot traffic on the Second Avenue Northeast Overpass.
Beginning on Tuesday, August 26, crews will be completing traffic work that will prevent pedestrians from crossing the overpass. This work is expected to be completed by Friday, August 29, weather permitting.
The work will also see lanes restricted for vehicles during certain periods of the work. During such times, traffic flow will be irregular, and signage will be posted.
The City will have a detour for foot traffic in place, and will be offering free City Transit rides to assist people with getting from the north to the southside, and vice versa.
The City notes that this work will be taking place inside the concrete abutments and may not be visible at times.
The City thanks the public for their patience while this work is completed, and acknowledges that this is an inconvenience, even if only a temporary one.
