All Swift Current's Kai Foster could do was watch last night as Saskatchewan fell in the quarterfinal of the Canada Summer Games lacrosse tournament.

Foster, a goaltender for Saskatchewan, was the backup in last night's game as Alberta beat them 7-5 in their quarterfinal match-up.

He went 2-0 in his starts as Saskatchewan had gone 4-0 in preliminary round play.

"First time Sask has ever done that I think," Foster said. "Just a tight group of guys. Everybody knows each other and knows where to pass the ball. Just a tight group."

Now they need to regroup against Manitoba today on the consolation side of the bracket.

"Just keep our heads up and have a short-term memory," Foster said.

The Swift Current product has had a strong tournament only allowing three goals in his two starts. He has his own special trick to stay focused during pressure filled moments.

"I just kind of sing songs in my head and call it good," Foster joked.

The netminder has really enjoyed his first experience at the Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland.

"Very friendly," he said. "All the volunteers were super caring and super helpful. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and just trying to take advantage of it."

Foster's plans for next season include playing junior lacrosse with the Swift Current Wolverines.
