Chrome and community: Innisfail celebrated cars at the annual Kinsmen Show & Shine/ Liz Parent
Categories

The streets of downtown Innisfail were filled with chrome, colour, and community spirit on Sunday (August 24), as the annual Innisfail Kinsmen Car Show took over the town’s core.

The free Show and Shine featured cars and trucks spanning more than a century, from the early 1900s to modern-day models.

The event not only showcased the passion of vehicle owners but also drew large crowds who browsed a downtown packed with classic rides, a bustling market, and food vendors.

Sunny 94 was the event sponsor, with our own Liz representing the station in the Rocky Mountain Dodge & RV Sunny Summer Cruiser.

She was invited to help judge one of the categories, selecting a 1947 Mercury Series 79M convertible as the winner in the pre-1950s class.

Homemade trophies, a scavenger hunt for kids, and a 50/50 draw added to the festivities.

The Innisfail Kinsmen Club, established in 1979, has long been dedicated to enhancing life in Innisfail.

Funds raised at events like the car show go toward projects such as new playground equipment, community facilities, and support for local sports and school groups.
