The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings wrapped up training camp Monday afternoon with the annual Red and White Game at the Whitecap Resources Centre.

In a close-fought game that gave fans a glimpse of the talent competing for a roster spot, Team Red came away with a 4-3 victory over Team White.

Devon Boyle, Jacob Elliott, Ryder Rommelaere, and Emmette Yurkowski all found the back of the net for Team Red. Adam Savage Keller contributed two assists in the effort.

For Team White, Talen Lewis scored two goals, while Sawyer Aquila added one.

The annual intrasquad game sees the presentation of the Eric Calibaba and Friends Cup, in memory of former Red Wing Eric Calibaba, who passed away in 2019, to the winning team. The organization also held a moment of silence before the game in honour of former Red Wing Clayton Chappell, who passed away last week.

With training camp now behind them, the Red Wings will shift their focus to the preseason schedule. They will open their exhibition slate on Friday night when they welcome the Melville Millionaires to the Whitecap Resources Centre. The regular season will start on September 19th when the Red Wings host the Yorkton Terriers.
