A unique annual fundraiser has returned for the community of Morse.

The Morse Cultural and Heritage Association is holding another quilt raffle in support of the Morse Museum.

John C. Griffin, member of the Morse Cultural and Heritage Association, said raffles like this one are always well received by the community.

“Local artisan Sharon Weppler, every year she makes a quilt and donates it to the museum for us to raffle off.” said Griffin. “We're ever grateful to her for that, she's very, very talented and it's just something people really enjoy.”

This year, Griffin said a matching throw pillow is also up for grabs

Tickets are $5 each, with proceeds going to the various improvement projects at the museum.

“So, being over a century old, the building, which was the former school here in Morse, is in need of some repairs,” said Griffin. “We got some floor work going on, and our biggest [project] here is our entryway improvement.”

Tickets can be purchased at the Morse Museum and the Credit Union, the Stewart Valley Co-Op, as well as the Swift Current Legion branch.

The draw for the quilt will be made at the annual Morse Museum Fall Supper on October 5, with additional tickets available for purchase at the event.
