Chestermere added new campaign sign rules.

The City of Chestermere has introduced new rules on the placement of election campaign signs. 

In a report released Wednesday, (Sept. 10), the City outlined several additions to its sign regulations ahead of the 2025 municipal election 

New rules include: 

  • Signs placed on public land must not be larger than 1.5 square metres in size.
  • Signs may be set up no earlier than 30 days before the election and must be removed three days afterward. 
  • Signs must not block driver visibility, be placed too close to the road, or obstruct fire hydrants. 

The City clarified that these rules apply to boulevards, road rights-of-way, and other public spaces. 

The updated regulations are now in effect.
