The Lacombe Fire Department has welcomed six new full members following the completion of their probationary periods.
On Sept. 2, firefighters Floris, Dunn, Wilmot, Wilson, Thompson and Neilson officially became full members after months of training and service as recruits.
The department said completing probation is a significant milestone for volunteer firefighters, as it requires balancing training with work, family and personal commitments.
“These firefighters have shown exceptional commitment to training, dedication to their team, and a strong desire to serve our community,” the department said in a social media statement.
Chief Jason Fleming, Deputy Chief Mike Regier and Assistant Deputy Chief Ryan Fauria extended their gratitude to the new members for their perseverance and dedication, noting their contributions strengthen both the department and the community.
