Wheel n' Wednesday has officially wrapped up for 2025.
The last of the Shaunavon-based car show dates took place this week, with 39 cars in attendance, with roughly 200 people joining the Excellerators Car Club at Ranch House Meats for a barbecue.
David Horn, social media manager for the Excellerators Car Club, hasn't totalled the money yet, but says all the proceeds from the barbecue are going to support the Southwest Chronic Disease Support.
"The barbecue was very well attended," said Horn. "It was all sponsored by Ranch House Meats."
The event saw people come from across the region to join them at the seventh Wheel n' Wednesday. In order to celebrate the end of the season, the Excellerators did hand out a few prizes.
"We had a couple of People's Choice Awards throughout the season, and a grand Prize Winner at the end," said Horn.
The Grand Prize Award was given to Lucas Phillips with his 1963 Pontiac. Phillips is only 14 years old, with the Pontiac being his first-ever car.
"I think that shows it goes beyond the car, and speaks to the people and everything involved, too," said Horn.
Another award that was handed out was the Special People's Choice Award, which went to Dustin Vipond and his Family Truckster tribute build, a 1985 Mercury Wagon.
Wheel n' Wednesday's began this year on May 21, with the inaugural 2025 show held at Jack's Cafe in Eastend.
Horn figures they will probably kick off the 2026 Wheel n' Wednesday season at a similar time.
"We started earlier and went long this year," said Horn. "(We had a reduced schedule) because it seemed it was too long by the end of 2024."
The Excellerators saw an increased interest with the reduced schedule, with Horn figuring it put less pressure on people to make a commitment to attending every week.
Next year, he his hopeful Wheel n' Wednesdays will be bigger, better, and more fun than ever.
