A southwest non-profit is gearing up to gather the community to support equipment upgrades at the Meadows in Swift Current.
The Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation is set to hold the province's first Grand Parade fundraiser, coming up on September 20.
Crystal Imrie, communications and development coordinator for the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation, shared that currently, they're only 11 per cent of the way to the $20,000 goal.
"It's a two or five-kilometre walk, and it's the first senior-focused fundraiser we've done since the Meadows opened," she said. "You can register online and do all your donations online, it's like the Coldest Night of the Year that the Center does, where you can do everything online."
Participants will meet at the organization's parking lot, with check-in beginning at 10:00 a.m., and the walk kicking off at 11:00 a.m.
"We were looking for some sort of fundraiser to do for our senior population because we hadn't done one in a while, and this seemed like a good fit," added Imrie. "We're really looking forward to doing this, and we're hoping we can build on it year after year."
Folks can register by heading to thegrandparade.org under the Swift Current location.
