Two people accused of attempted murder in an alleged shooting had their court cases adjourned to Sept. 17.

A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared via CCTV and was represented by lawyer Merv Nidesh.

Nidesh asked for the adjournment to meet with his client and go over a report he just received before the court. The contents of the report are also under a publication ban as it may contain information that could identify the youth.

Windover was represented by Legal Aid lawyer Suzanne Lalonde and she also got an adjournment to Sept. 17.

The charges stem for what police say was a shooting that took place on the North Service Road on July 14 in which a man received a gunshot wound and Windover and the youth were named as suspects.

Both Windover and the youth were arrested the following day after a pair of police operations.

  • Uttering threats
  • Breach of an undertaking
  • Mischief
  • Taking a motor vehicle without consent
  • Failure to appear in court
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Attempted murder

The youth is facing the following charges:

  • Break and enter
  • Failure to comply with a sentencing under the Youth Criminal Justice Act
  • Failure to comply with a release order
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
