The bids were flying at the Million Dollar Auction at Cypress Motors.
After a fun-filled summer where people could track down the Southwest Explorer, Carianne Hunter at different events, those who did find her were able to gather for the auction event.
Up for grabs were everything from soaps and drinks to full-sized trampolines and $500 Co-op gift cards.
One of the big bidders for the evening was Rayce Schultz, who was happiest with a set of Snap-On screw drivers.
"Bidding was fierce, especially with that Dustin Vipond," said Schultz.
One of the big items auctioned off was the Trager Smoker set. Lindsay Munro walked away with that for over 80,000 fun bucks.
"Probably going to cook some really good dinners," said Munro. "Might even let the husband take over on that. (The Million Dollar Auction) was super fun."
The biggest spender of the evening was Dustin Vipond, who had hundreds of thousands of fun bucks saved from a full summer of events and adventures all over southwest Saskatchewan. He bought the $500 gift card with the intention of supporting his daughter, Hayley Vipond.
"She is in Moose Jaw for school," said Vipond. "Probably give it to her for fuel."
Vipond also bought the patio furniture set, along with the final item of the evening, a full-size trampoline. Being that he doesn't like to bounce and his daughter is in college, he elected to give the trampoline away.
"The young couple beside me has kids who can use it," said Vipond. "So they're going home with the trampoline. It's all a bunch of fun. Everyone is laughing and smiling, and you're not bidding with real money, so it's great."
Hunter enjoyed her summer of wild adventures and events. In particular, she will fondly look back at her time in Maple Creek.
"I had a lot of fun taking pictures at the rodeo in Maple Creek," said Hunter. "I also went shopping in Maple Creek!"
