This marks the first time the Chamber has hosted a Rocky View County Municipal Candidates Forum. A minimum of five registered candidates is required for the event to proceed.

“These forums provide an essential opportunity for community members to hear directly from the individuals who wish to lead our municipalities,” said Marilyne Aalhus, Executive Director of the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We are committed to encouraging open conversation, transparency, and civic engagement by creating a platform where voters can make informed decisions.”

The Chamber said the Oct. 1 forum will feature councillor candidates and “provides an opportunity to learn more about each candidate and their business-focused platforms.”

The online event is free to attend and open to the public, but advance registration is required. A link will be emailed to registrants and posted on the event page by Friday, Sept. 26.

All candidates will be invited by Sept. 22, the Chamber said.

The forum will be moderated by a neutral facilitator, with candidates answering preselected questions submitted by the public. No questions will be taken from the floor due to time constraints. The Chamber said the session will be recorded and available for viewing within 24 hours.

The Chamber said it is politically non-partisan and does not endorse any candidate.

The Chamber also directed residents to visit rockyview.ca/elections for information on how to vote in the October 20th municipal elections.

The Chamber will also host a City of Airdrie Municipal Candidates Forum on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, from 6:30–9 p.m. The link will be posted one week prior, and registration is available on the Chamber’s site.
