The Big One is set to take over the Living Sky Casino parking lot.
The parking will be open to those entering the show at 3 p.m. Spectator parking will be allocated in the east parking lot, while the entire west side of the parking lot is reserved for the show. The City of Swift Current has even approved the use of Battleford Trail for parking if the Rogue Cruisers require the space.
Dustin Vipond, co-founding member of the Rogue Cruisers, has been hard at work setting things up for The Big One. He is hopeful that they will have as many cars as in years past, with hundreds of door prizes to hand out to those who do come.
"If you have a cash donation to give, we'll gladly take it, but that's certainly not necessary," said Vipond. "They'll be put towards a combination of some of our operating expenses and the SPCA, and then some of our other charity partners."
In order to qualify for a door prize, people need to stop by the registration table and speak with the Rogue Cruisers. The first 100 to register will receive limited edition numbered stickers with a rainbow shimmer effect.
"I believe there are over 120 individual donors, and I think so far we've packaged about 230 door prizes," said Vipond. "So Everybody that's entering with their car is going to have a real good shot at it."
The car show, as with every Tuesday, is free to both enter and attend. The only thing Vipond asks is that people consider making a donation to the SPCA Swift Current, which is the non-profit partner of Tail Light Tuesday for the month of September.
The Living Sky Casino will be operating a charity barbecue, with all the proceeds going to the SPCA Swift Current. It will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and each serving is $10.
The prize table will open for collection at 5 p.m., with The Big One officially beginning at 4 p.m. and running until 8 p.m. or when the last car leaves.
If anyone would like to volunteer, they can approach the Rogue Cruisers and ask where they can help.
Vipond thanked all of his fellow Rogue Cruisers who have helped, the Living Sky Casino for providing the venue, and the City of Swift Current and Tourism Swift Current for helping to promote this venture.
