A broken window and an altercation with police have resulted in a guilty plea for a Swift Current man.

Jason Schamber has pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and impaired driving after an incident in early 2025.

Schamber was taken into custody by police on January 31 after being found drinking inside his vehicle on the driveway of his home.

The Crown noted that when police tried to get Schamber to exit his vehicle, he locked it with him and his dog inside.

RCMP members then broke one window to get in and had to strike Schamber's hand to pry him off the steering wheel.

Schamber's lawyer added that his client had been concerned about the well-being of his dog and ended up with lasting damage from his injuries that day.

He was given a $1,300 fine for the incident and a one-year driving prohibition.
