HANSEN
Marilyn Hansen, a “Good Hearted Woman”, aged 83 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully in her own home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 15th, 2025. Marilyn was born on August 21st, 1942 in Cabri, SK to Kate Lorenz. She was a devoted and cherished wife and mother of three daughters.
She was predeceased by Kate Lorenz. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Lloyd; and daughters: Temple Hansen, Aura-Lee Zack (Terry), and Crystal Hansen.
Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Hansen, in 1964. Together, they raised three daughters and enjoyed a life full of adventure and love. As a Registered Nurse, early in her life, she fulfilled her passion for service, and later received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours, majoring in Religious Studies. Marilyn was an avid gardener, a talented artist, and enjoyed a lifelong love of music. She was an active member of the parish choirs, and a member of CWL in various parishes where she followed “the Good Timin’ Man”. She learned to play guitar later in life and the two lovebirds performed at various Jam sessions, and at outdoor festivals, and entertained at various retirement homes. Marilyn had a deep faith from early childhood and onward, devoted specifically to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Theresa, the Little Flower. God granted her the privilege of her anniversary of death being celebrated on Our Lady of Sorrows 1 Feast Day. It was immensely important to her to stay true to her principles even when faced with oppositional challenges. She made sure to instill these same values in her children.
Marilyn fought the good fight throughout her battle with lung cancer, always with a positive attitude and trust in God. He had a plan.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish, 1064 3rd Ave NW in Moose Jaw. Deacon Lamont Dyck will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.
