Suddenly on July 11, 2022 Allan Maly passed away surrounded by his family. Allan was born on March 27, 1950 to Margaret and George Maly.
He leaves his wife of 51 years Donna, son Dallas (Faye), Dara (Tyler), Garrett (Dana), son Shane (Dee), Chase (Jess), Colton, Steven and sister Patty.
Allan spent all his life on the farm in the Longburn area. He started farming with his Gramps and continued right up until his death. He passed along his love and knowledge to his son Dallas and Grandson Garrett. As a young man he drove stock cars, hunted, curled and loved to play crib. Later, in addition to farming, he commercial fished.
Allan could only be described as a happy soul. He smiled easily and often, he laughed and loved to tease everyone. He would try to charm his way into any kitchen because he loved to eat.
Family was the most important thing to him. He loved his boys and thought they could do anything. He was also extremely proud of his grandchildren. He loved to see them and always tried to be part of their lives.
He also loved animals. He loved the time spent with his cows but also always had a dog or sometimes 2 or 3 in the truck and in the tractor with him while he made his rounds. All the dogs in the neighborhood will miss him and his treats.
He was a good neighbor who was always ready and willing to lend a hand or offer advice.
He lived the life he wanted with no apologies. He was fiercely loyal and would defend his own to his last breath. He rests now with his lost friends Tom and Dick and he can see his parents.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Westbourne Hall from 2 to 4 pm.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Allan’s memory to Portage Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), 121 12th St. NE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 4A2.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
