Winnipeg police have closed off part of a busy intersection after a sinkhole opened up on Wednesday evening.
Just after 10:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service sent out an alert that the entire intersection of Inkster Boulevard and Salter Street had been closed. The "massive sinkhole" had opened up in the middle of the intersection.

Since then city crews have determined that west and eastbound Inkster are safe and police have opened up traffic for Inkster Blvd. Salter remains closed in both directions as of 5:30 a.m.
There is no word at this time on what caused the sinkhole, or how long Salter may remain closed.
