The City of Portage la Prairie will be looking to get rid of mosquitoes once again as they're preparing for their next wave of fogging.
The fogging will take place with Delta Gard 20EW, weather permitting. The first day of fogging will be on Wednesday, August 10th, where all areas south of the track not including Koko Platz, Mellenville, and Old Bridge Road will be fogged. On Thursday, August 11th, all areas north of the tracks, including Koko Platz, Mellenville, and Old Bridge Road will be fogged.
The fogging would begin at 9:30 p.m. and would conclude by 6 a.m. If the weather's poor, the schedule will be pushed back by a day, with fogging beginning the next evening.
Since West Nile Virus continues to be a threat, the city is encouraging everyone to allow fogging to take place. Anyone that would like to request no-fog is asked to call 204-239-8346 before 4:00 pm, August 10, 2022, with a message including your name and address. A 90-meter buffer zone will be left surrounding any properties with a no-fog request.
If anyone has questions regarding no-fog zones, please contact Jocelyn Lequier-Jobin, Director of Operations, at 204-239-8387.
