KERESTES

It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) Kerestes announce his passing on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at the age of 86 years.  He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor in 2010; parents, Steve and Ada Kerestes of Swan River, MB; brother, Glenn Kerestes of Swan River, MB; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary Tuzyk of Dauphin, MB; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wetick of Ethelbert, MB.  Jim will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Sheryl (Craig) Kergen of Crossfield, AB and their children Tyler (Erin) and their daughter Willow of Merickville, ON and Alexandra Kergen of Calgary, AB; daughter, Barbara (Todd) Pierce and their children Samantha (Matt Allen) and Paige of Moose Jaw, SK; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kerestes of Swan River, MB and Carol (David) McBurney of Portage la Prairie, MB; brothers-in-law, Raymond Wetick of Ethelbert, MB and Joseph (Barb) Tuzyk of Dauphin, MB; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jim was an amazing finishing carpenter.  He enjoyed working on vintage vehicles and would never miss a NASCAR race on TV.  He enjoyed the companionship of his cat Chinook, who is now living with his granddaughter Paige.  The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Extendicare in Moose Jaw for their exceptional care of Jim over the last 2 years.  In keeping with Jim’s wishes, a private time of reflection for family will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest with Eleanor.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, 301 - 2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
