The Portage Terriers have made it four wins in a row. The Dogs came away with a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Blues on the road tonight.

The Terriers opened the scoring on special teams but not on the end you would expect. After Brandon Funk took a high sticking penalty, last year’s leading scorer Daniel Siso found himself on a short-handed breakaway. He went to his backhand and was able to pick up the unassisted marker for his second goal of the season.

Slade Stanick ripped a shot past Blues goaltender Jackson McLeod later in the first to make it 2-0 going into the second period. Brandon McCartney and Alyandro De Leon were credited with assists.

Hudson Cameron extended the Dogs' lead early in the following frame as he beat McLeod on the rush. McCartney picked up his second helper of the game on the goal and now has eight points in his last three outings.

Garett Zasitko responded in the third period just seconds after a penalty to Austin McLean had expired, making it 3-1. Former Terrier Brandt Young picked up an assist on the play.

The final effort from Winnipeg wasn’t enough, however, as Stanick potted an empty netter with one second left in the game to seal the deal and bring the final score to 4-1 Portage.

Bailey Monteith made 20 saves in the contest and now has three wins this season. The goaltender also Brough his goal-against-average down to just 1.99 after this contest.

The Terriers will be hitting the road again on Friday for a battle with the Neepawa Titans and will return to Stride Place the following night for a rematch with the Blues.
