The Portage Terriers have received some recognition for their play this past week. The Dogs were placed in the Canadian Junior Hockey League's (CHJL) power rankings and are ranked as the sixth-best Junior A team in the country.
The Terriers were at the number six spot last week and kept their position by winning a pair of games over the Winnipeg Blues and dropping just their third game of the season on Sunday to the Steinbach Pistons. In the previous rankings, the Pistons were one spot back of the Terriers but with their convincing win at Stride Place this weekend, they have now jumped all the way up to third.
An individual Terrier was also put in the spotlight for his performance this past week. Forward Austin McLean was named one of the MJHL's Three Stars of the Week as he scored three goals and dished out a pair of assists over the last three games.

McLean notched a hat-trick in Winnipeg last Tuesday in just his third game back from injury. He picked up an assist in each of the following two contests and is now on a four-game point streak. The Regina native has five goals and four assists in 13 games this season and has spent the majority of his time on the top line alongside leading-scorer Daniel Siso.
The Terriers will look to move up the CJHL power rankings for next week as they have a rematch with Steinbach Pistons on Friday, and the Dogs will return to Stride Place on Sunday for a battle with the Swan Valley Stampeders.
