The Weyburn Red Wings snapped their four-game losing streak on home ice last night, coming away with a 4-1 win over Yorkton Terriers.
The Red Wings opened the scoring roughly four minutes into the first period, with a goal by Jackson Hassman. Yorkton answered the goal just a few minutes later but Jakob Kalin closed out the period in style, scoring with just fifteen seconds left.
From there, everything went in favour of the Red Wings with Ty Mason scoring with less than a minute left in the second and Hassman closing it out with his second goal of the game at the end of the third.
"The Red Wings played a pretty solid all-around game last night," said Nick Nielsen, Office and Marketing Manager and Voice of the Wings. "Some very good penalty killing from the Red Wings and some later clutch moments, as they scored in the last minute of all three periods."
Things did get a bit heated during the game, with Weyburn's Matthew Reidy and Yorkton's TIjs Vreys both receiving a game misconduct for separate incidents.
The Red Wings are back in action on Friday when La Ronge comes to town. Puck drop is 7:00 at Crescent Point Place.
