The Portage Terriers have just seven games left to prepare for the playoffs.

One of their final four home games goes down tonight against the Winnipeg Blues, and the Terriers will be looking to keep their hot streak rolling. Portage has won seven straight games and finished February with a 9-1 record.

The Dogs have a six-point lead in the standings over the second-place Steinbach Pistons, however, the Pistons have one extra game to play. With that being the case, the Terriers will need ten points in this final seven-game stretch to guarantee home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

Slade Stanick and Mike Stubbs have been two of the many Terriers contributing heavily on offence in recent weeks. Stanick is currently on a five-game point streak, while Stubbs has at least a point in each of his last four.

After alternating goalies in, basically, every game this season, the Terriers have let 20-year-old Bailey Monteith fully take the reigns recently. The Kamloops, British Columbia native allowed just seven goals in the five games and notched a pair of shutouts.

While last month may have been the best month of the season for the Terriers, it was pretty much the opposite for the Blues. Winnipeg has lost three consecutive games and won just one of their seven matches in February.

Portage looks to become the first team in the MJHL this season to crack the 40-win mark tonight at Stride Place, with puck drop set for 7:30.
