NUHN

Herman George Nuhn aged 97 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.  Son of Frederick Nuhn and Emma (Maes), Herman was born June 5th, 1925 and grew up with his 5 brothers and sisters: Henry, Walter, Thelma, Mildred and Ruth, on the family farm in Ayton, Ontario.  An avid baseball player in his youth, he joined the RCAF in 1952 after the passing of his father and served with great pride and joy – his lifelong love of aircraft and of serving in the Canadian Air Force was a defining era of his life.  It was through the RCAF that Herman met Audoreen Bourne in North Bay, Ontario, fell in love immediately, and were each other’s partners in life continuously for 66 years until his passing.  When Audie needed the care of Providence Place in Moose Jaw, he visited her daily for several years until he was able to join her there 4 months before his passing.  Herman is survived by his wife, Audoreen (née: Bourne); their 3 children: Karen, Darla Mayer (John), and Derek; 6 grandchildren: Jared, Joel, Jordan, Brett, Krista, and Tania; and great-grandson, Oliver.

Herman travelled the world and, in his retirement, enjoyed regular trips to visit family in Ontario and Manitoba, and attend his beloved Blue Jays games.  He loved music, working on his cars, house and garden, and was an avid collector of old and vintage clocks.
