The Red River continues to rise as water from the United States arrives in Manitoba. In the latest daily report from the Manitoba Hydrologic Forecast Centre, it was noted most tributaries in the basin have peaked or are near their peak, but a major risk of flooding remains between Emerson and the Floodway inlet.
The Red rose about three quarters of a foot Tuesday compared to Monday's measurement, with increases noted at every point from there to the Floodway. The crest is still expected some time between April 28th and May 2nd.
Meanwhile, Spring runoff continues for the Pembina River basin, and the risk of flooding is low at this time.

The Province is monitoring today's low pressure system which is expected to bring 5-15mm of rainfall to most of Southern Manitoba, with the potential for a second system Saturday bringing additional moisture.
Meanwhile, the Portage Diversion is currently in use for the Assiniboine River. No significant flooding is expected from that waterway this spring.
