One of Fort Saskatchewan's premier events will be taking place this weekend.
On Saturday (June 3), the city's iconic grazing sheep will be returning as part of the Family Festival.
To mark this, the city plans on hosting their annual Sheep Returning Parade which will run alongside the river before climbing up the valley and into Peter T. Ream Park.
The parade will get going at noon and will run for about a half hour.
Its starting point will be the trails heading south off of River Road, where it will then snake its way to 100 Ave before eventually ending in Peter T. Ream Park.
While people won't be allowed to interact with the sheep during the parade, there will be time after the parade for people to feed and pet them. The shepherds will also be available to help educate residents about the sheep.
Dogs will be allowed to attend the parade as long as they are on a leash. Aggressive or overly excited dogs do have a tendency to scare the sheep, so the city is asking pet owners to try and keep their animals under control.
