Taylor, Phyllis Marie passed away on June 30, 2023 at the age of 100 years, in Gull Lake at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre. Phyllis was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan on October 26, 1922.  Phyllis attended school at Gull Lake and then later she went to Moose Jaw General Hospital obtaining her registered nurse certificate, graduating at the top of her class. Phyllis married Gordon Taylor of the Clairbank district on February 24, 1945 in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. After moving to town from the farm in 1973, Phyllis worked as the weekend supervisor at the Gull Lake and District Special Care Home for a number of years. Phyllis loved her family more than life itself, she worked hard on the family farm alongside her husband. She was forever doing good deeds and taking care of others for as long as she could. Phyllis was a great homemaker and a superb cook. She always loved visits from family and friends. Her door was always open-coffee and cookies always on. Special interests for Phyllis were quilting, sewing, gardening, cards, sports, world affairs, politics, reading, square dancing, and keeping up with what was new in the medical world. Phyllis was a member of the Knox United Church and the UCW, she was also a member of the Clairbank community club, the Gull Lake quilting club, the Gull Lake nurses association, and the Wednesday afternoon bridge club. Phyllis is survived by her daughters; Wendy Melvin, and Pat Taylor, Grandchildren; Tim (Samantha), Andi(Craig), Joni, Great Grandchildren; Maegan(Riley) Armstrong, Lane Melvin, Hailey Melvin, Abbey Folk, Kasen Folk, Cooper Melvin, Great great grand daughter; Nora Armstrong, and many nieces and nephews and many friends. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Gordon Taylor, Son-in-law; Terry Melvin, and Son-in-law; Cornell Semenchuk. The service was held on July 10, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Knox United Church in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan with Rev. Ken Schrag officiating.
