Funnel clouds spotted in southeast during severe storms Thursday afternoon

Funnel clouds were spotted in Kleefeld, southwest of Steinbach, Thursday afternoon.

Tornado warnings were issued by Environment Canada for several municipalities in the area including Hanover, La Broquerie and Stuartburn.

Steinbach was also hit with a mid-day thunderstorm on Thursday.

The rain temporarily flooded some streets. There was also a power outage felt in parts of the city.

According to the Manitoba Ag Weather Network, these are some of the rainfall totals from the storm event:

Steinbach - 19.9mm (8/10)
Elie - 18.7mm
Marchand - 16.9mm
Zhoda - 9.6mm (4/10th)
Gardenton - 7.3mm
Manitou - 5.7mm
Morris - 1.5mm
Winkler - 1.2mm
